Revival explores what happens when the dead come back to life and how the world will deal with that implication. Set in a small town in Wisconsin, the residents are quarantined and must adjust to living and dealing with the dead that have come back to life. We see what that means to different people throughout the town and how they deal with it on a personal level.

Tensions rise throughout the town as mysteries pop up that one lucky detective gets to deal with on her own while finding out about an unexpected tragic event that hits a little closer to home.

It’s a gem that isn’t talked about much for whatever reason; it’s essentially a zombie book but it’s a fresh take unlike the typical flesh-eating zombie stories that are over done by this point. It’s not a greatly impactful book that will resonate with me for a long time like Alan Moore's Swamp Thing did but its interesting and fascinating enough to keep you reading to find out what happens next. Full of interesting characters and batshit events revolving around the "Revivers", which is what they are calling the re-awakened dead.

Although its an old release, I just stumbled upon it at my LCS on a recommendation form the shop owner.

It can be a little hard to follow at times but becomes easy to pull your focus back in. I enjoyed and will eventually read the remaining volumes, but it won’t be top 10 on my to read list any time soon.

Tim Seeley and Mike Norton are a perfect pairing to each others’ strengths on this title, I don't know that it would work with a different artist or writer.
